This study addresses limitations in understanding interprofessional collaboration in emergency departments by developing and applying a novel methodological framework that integrates multiple data streams to create a comprehensive, high-resolution picture of collaboration in emergency care. The research moves beyond conventional survey-based methods to capture collaboration as it occurs naturally in clinical practice, enabling examination of how specific patterns of interaction relate to measurable patient safety outcomes.
