The escalating mental health crisis among youth populations has prompted urgent calls for innovative intervention strategies within educational environments. While substantial research has examined the roles of school counselors, psychologists, and social workers in addressing student mental health needs, the potential contributions of school nurses remain significantly underexplored. This research addresses this critical gap by systematically investigating the unique capabilities and effectiveness of nursing professionals in implementing mental health awareness campaigns in school settings. The conventional paradigm of mental health service delivery in schools has largely positioned nurses in peripheral roles focused on physical health concerns, despite their regular, non-stigmatizing interactions with students across the educational spectrum. School nurses occupy a distinctive position within educational ecosystems, maintaining consistent contact with students through routine health assessments, management of chronic conditions, and response to acute medical needs. These interactions create natural opportunities for mental health promotion that differ fundamentally from scheduled counseling sessions or formal interventions.
