Implementation of comprehensive incident response plans for banking cybersecurity emergencies

Posted: Aug 20, 2023

Abstract

This research presents a novel framework for implementing comprehensive incident response plans specifically tailored to banking cybersecurity emergencies, addressing critical gaps in current financial institution preparedness. Traditional incident response methodologies often fail to account for the unique interdependencies between financial systems, regulatory requirements, and customer trust factors that characterize banking cybersecurity incidents. Our approach introduces a multi-layered response architecture that integrates real-time threat intelligence with automated containment protocols while maintaining essential banking operations. The methodology employs a hybrid simulation environment combining digital twins of banking infrastructure with behavioral modeling of both attackers and institutional responders. Through extensive testing across simulated cyberattack scenarios including ransomware, distributed denial-of-service attacks, and sophisticated financial fraud operations, our framework demonstrated a 67
